Magnificent Cookie Adventure
Thank you all who came out Saturday morning to support the cookie adventure! We are so blessed!
There are Advent calendars in the office and sanctuary for you and your family to use during the Advent season. If you have already received one and do not want another to share with someone else, please place yours on the altar after worship so that we can share it with another person. Also, we’d love to see pictures of you and your family doing the Advent calendar actions. Email us a picture or tag us on Facebook or Instagram so we can see your Advent in Action! If you’d like additional devotions, see Pastor Lora for book
suggestions to borrow.
Impromptu Christmas Nativity!
Join us for an impromptu Christmas Nativity! We will be having a practice for our Children’s Choir on December 16th after our 10:50 am church service. This practice will last about 15 minutes. Can’t make it to those practices? That’s okay! There is still a space for you! We will start handing out costumes at 10:00am on December 23rd and would love for you to join us. Does your older student want a speaking part in the program? Let Madison know so she can send it to you and they can begin practicing! You can reach Madison at Madison.email@example.com Have friends or family in town on Christmas Eve? Invite them to join in on the fun!
Choir Outreach Ministry this Week We are so grateful our choir gets to continue their tradition of offering their Christmas Eve music to our neighbors out at the Winfield Correctional Facility. They will be spending the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 12 sharing God’s love through music. Will you join us in prayer for this important ministry?
Youth Group on Sunday 12/16
We will meet in Fellowship Hall this Sunday from 6:30-8:00pm for Youth Group. All 6th-12th graders are invited!
Youth Trip to The One Event
We are heading to The One Event again this year! It is a conference-wide youth event happening in Salina on January 5-6. We will leave early Saturday morning and return Sunday afternoon. The youth will stay on the floor at a church. The cost is $50 each plus bringing money for two meals on the road. (Talk to Pastor Lora if cost is prohibitive). Please RSVP before Dec. 15 because cost goes up after that date.
Attention Parents: Donate Your Toys
We are inviting families with little ones to consider making some room for Christmas toys at your place by helping us make our nursery better. If you have used toys that are in good condition that are appropriate for the nursery, we would love to get a few new ones this season to replace old well-worn toys we have. You and your child/ren can leave them in Pastor Lora’s office. (Please use your best judgment on what would be most helpful to Grace’s nursery ministry. If you have questions about what might be good, talk to Pastor Lora or our nursery coordinator, Kacie Lockyear). We encourage you to use this as a chance to teach your children about generosity and why we give at Christmas!
We are so happy and feel so blessed that our church family has adopted all the Irving kids on the list. Such a blessing! Please have all your gifts in the office by the 13th. Thank you all!
Staff Love Offering
During this holiday season, SP/PRC would like to honor the staff of Grace with a love offering. We have a wonderful staff and we want to let them know how much we appreciate each and every one of them. If you would like to make a donation, offerings are being coordinated by Staff/Pastor Parish Relations Committee members Lonnie Boyd and Charles McKinzie. Donations can also be mailed to GUMC at 320 College St., Winfield, KS 67156, Attn: Bev Grunder (please note “Staff Love Offering” on the check memo line). Please plan to make your donation by Wednesday December 19th.
Thank you SO much to everyone who has turned in your pledge cards for 2019. We are so excited about what it looks like we are going to be able to do together. We are on track for one of our highest pledge years in recent history. God is at work in the life of this church, and it’s a gift to be able to work together to live out God’s mission for us. If you still need to turn in your pledge, there is time! You can fill one out in the office or fill out this form online here: https://gracewinfield.breezechms.com/form/cb9861
