|Grace Kids Accept Bishop’s ChallengeA note from Madison: On Sunday we read the Bible story of the Good Samaritan and talked about our neighbors in Nebraska. We talked about the flooding and what we can do to help after watching this video. We went through a brainstorming process and decided on what we’ll call a “coin challenge!” I sent each family home with a mason jar with “Nebraska Flood Fund” on it.
I challenged the kids to raise $5 each this week, and they decided to go on a coin hunt around their houses, sidewalks, etc. to try to find the money. They also offered to empty out their penny banks, savings, or wallets to give to the fund. I would encourage you to talk to them about it this week and have conversations about meaningful giving.
They have until this Sunday to raise the money! (Of course, if it lasts longer than that we will get the funds to their rightful place). On Sunday we’ll gather all of the money and I’ll count it and post a video update after church on how we did.
Please let Madison know if you have any questions.
