Sunday, June 30
Bruce Blake will lead in worship and preach on Sunday, June 30th. His sermon will be, “Back to Forward with the Basics.” Included in the service will be a special litany celebrating the pastoral ministry of the past 35 years at Grace United Methodist Church. Lay members of Grace will speak in recognition of the ministry of Keith Dudeck, Jerre Nolte, Kevin Hopkins, John Martin, Lora Andrews and in anticipation of the leadership of Maddie Johnson. This service is planned as a celebration of the history and the future of our congregation.

Missions & Social Justice Team invites you to share God’s love in our neighborhood. When there is a 5th Sunday in a month, we invite you to bring five items on this list (or however many works for you – we are really just trying to help everyone remember it’s the 5th Sunday!) to share with our neighbors in need. Our next “Give Me 5” will be June 30!For Southwestern College Neighbors:

Winfield Pride – June 30
The very first Winfield Pride event is happening this Sunday, June 30th, from 12:00-5:00 PM at Island Park. This is a wonderful way to support the LGTBQ community and celebrate the wonderful diversity of God’s children. Everyone is encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and join in the fun. Grace will have a table there and we will also have a Neighboring table, with activities at both. If you would be willing to help with tie dying shirts, leading simple games, or helping with a water balloon fight, please contact Roger Moon or Joy Lenz.

Congratulations Shirley Booe!! Shirley was awarded the 2019 Unit Member of the Year award through the American Legion Auxiliary. We are so grateful for the incredible ways she serves at Grace and in our community.

Missions & Social Justice Team is offering education information about how our faith connects to various social concerns. Each month they will focus on a specific topic and each week will focus on a different faith lens to view that topic. This month is Peace with Justice.What do you say? How can you take action?

  • Support and promote Peace with Justice Sunday (Sunday, July 14).
  • Join the Peace with Justice Network.
  • Urge congress to support the Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act.
  • Advocate for robust funding in the federal budget for Peacekeeping Operations, the Complex Crisis Fund and the Atrocities Prevention Fund.
